Connecteam is a broad, well-made app for deskless teams - time clock, scheduling, chat, checklists and light HR, all in one place, with a genuinely useful free tier. It is popular for good reason and it works across cleaning, security, hospitality, retail and construction alike. That last point is the catch: Connecteam is a generalist. It gives every industry the same toolbox and lets each one build its own forms and checklists on top.

Complys is the opposite: a specialist built for one industry - UK construction - and for the compliance that industry is legally required to keep. It does the geofenced GPS clock-in, scheduling and site forms that overlap with Connecteam, but its forms are not blank templates you fill in yourself. For the core construction question - was this person on my site when they said they were - the two are on a par. The difference is where the data lands: in Connecteam it sits in a timesheet; in Complys it sits next to that worker's signed induction, their CSCS card expiry and the site's RAMS, so the location is one thread in a compliance record rather than a standalone entry.

Connecteam's strength is also its limitation. Because it serves every deskless industry, its features are deliberately generic.
