What is a compliance software affiliate programme?
A compliance software affiliate programme lets individuals and organisations earn commission by introducing businesses to compliance software they may benefit from using. Unlike promoting a physical product or a one-off referral, a software affiliate programme can pay commission on the qualifying subscription payments a referred customer makes over time.
The Complys programme is built on that model. Approved Partners get a unique referral link; when an eligible business follows it, signs up and becomes a qualifying paying customer, the referral generates commission under the programme terms. Because Complys is a recurring subscription platform, one successful introduction can generate commission over many months rather than a single fee.
Why promote compliance software?

Recurring commission vs a one-off referral fee

Recurring does not mean guaranteed. Commission depends on qualifying customer payments, if a referred business does not become a paying customer, cancels, or stops making qualifying payments, there is no further commission from that referral.
How affiliate tracking works
When someone follows your Complys referral link, the referral is tracked for 60 days. That window gives a potential customer time to research Complys and return later rather than having to sign up the moment they click. Eligible sign-ups are then attributed to your Partner account under the programme’s tracking rules, and you can monitor activity in your dashboard. When does the 12-month commission period start?
The commission period for an eligible referred customer starts from their first qualifying payment, not when you are approved as a Partner, and not when the customer begins a free trial. From that first payment, qualifying subscription payments can generate commission for up to 12 months.
What happens after the Founding 100?
New Standard Partners start at 20% commission. Once they generate their first £20,000 of cumulative qualifying referred customer revenue, they unlock 25% on qualifying revenue above £20,000. Once unlocked, the 25% Growth Partner rate is retained. Founding Partners skip the £20,000 requirement and earn 25% from day one, the real advantage of joining early.

Recruit other Partners and earn an extra 5%
You don't only earn from the customers you refer. If you introduce someone else who becomes an approved Complys Partner, you earn an additional 5% commission on the qualifying subscription payments made by the customers they go on to refer, on top of the commission you earn from your own referrals.
Importantly, this does not reduce the Partner you recruited: they still earn their full 20% or 25% on their own customers. The extra 5% is paid by Complys, not taken out of their share. Your recruits can see and keep every penny of their own commission, recruiting is genuinely additive for both of you.
How the 5% works
- One level. You earn 5% on the Partners you personally recruit. It doesn't extend to Partners they in turn recruit, it's a single tier, not a pyramid.
- On their customers' payments. The 5% is calculated on the qualifying subscription revenue actually received by Complys from your recruit's referred customers.
- For 12 months per recruit. The 5% runs for 12 months from that recruited Partner's first qualifying customer payment.
- Both stay active. You and your recruit both need to be active Partners, and the usual rules on refunds, chargebacks and VAT apply.
Once approved, you get a Partner recruitment link alongside your customer referral link, and your Partner dashboard shows the Partners you've recruited and the override commission you've earned from each.

What is the Complys Affiliate Programme?
The Complys Affiliate Programme lets approved Partners earn commission by referring new businesses to Complys. You receive a unique affiliate referral link to share with relevant businesses through your website, social media, email or professional network. When an eligible referral becomes a qualifying paying customer, you earn commission on eligible subscription payments in accordance with the Complys Partner Programme terms.
How much commission can Complys affiliates earn?
It depends on the current Partner commission rate, the number of eligible customers you refer, the subscriptions they choose and how long they remain qualifying paying customers. Because Complys uses a recurring subscription model, eligible referrals can generate recurring commission rather than a single one-off payment. What commission rate do Complys Partners earn, is it 20% or 25%?
Founding Partners (the first 100) earn 25% on qualifying referred customer revenue from day one, with no threshold to reach. Standard Partners earn 20% on their first £20,000 of cumulative qualifying referred customer revenue, then 25% on qualifying revenue above £20,000. Once a Standard Partner reaches 25%, that Growth Partner rate is retained. All rates apply to qualifying subscription revenue actually received by Complys, subject to the Partner Programme terms.
Is Complys affiliate commission recurring?
Yes. Eligible Partners can earn recurring commission on qualifying subscription payments from customers they successfully refer, subject to the applicable commission period and the Complys Partner Programme terms. A successful referral may generate multiple commission payments rather than a single one-off payment.
How long can I earn commission from a referral?
The commission period for an eligible referral is set by the current Complys Partner Programme terms. Commission is generated only while a referred customer remains eligible and makes qualifying subscription payments during the applicable commission period. Check the current terms for the latest rate, qualifying period and payment conditions.
Can I earn commission for recruiting other Partners?
Yes. As well as earning on the customers you refer, you earn an extra 5% commission on the qualifying subscription payments made by the customers that Partners you recruit go on to refer. You get a Partner recruitment link once approved, and your dashboard shows the Partners you've recruited and the override commission earned from each. It's one level only, you earn on the Partners you personally recruit, not on Partners they in turn recruit, so it's a single additional tier, not a multi-level scheme. The 5% runs for 12 months from each recruited Partner's first qualifying customer payment, subject to the Complys Partner Programme terms.
Does recruiting a Partner reduce their commission?
No. A Partner you recruit still earns their full commission rate (20%, or 25% as a Founding or Growth Partner) on their own referred customers. Your 5% recruitment override is paid separately by Complys on top, it is never deducted from your recruit's earnings, so recruiting benefits both of you.
How are Complys affiliate referrals tracked?
Approved Partners receive a unique affiliate referral link. When someone follows that link, referral information is used to attribute eligible sign-ups and qualifying subscriptions to the correct Partner in accordance with the programme's tracking and attribution rules. You can monitor activity in your Partner dashboard.
How and when are affiliate commissions paid?
Eligible commissions are paid according to the payment schedule in the Complys Partner Programme terms. Commission is calculated on qualifying subscription revenue actually received by Complys. Payments that are refunded, reversed, charged back or otherwise excluded under the terms do not qualify.
Is there a fee to become a Complys Partner?
No. There is no joining fee to apply for the Complys Affiliate Programme. Applications are reviewed to make sure prospective Partners, their audiences and their promotional methods are suitable for the programme.
Who can join the Complys Affiliate Programme?
The programme is designed for individuals and organisations with relevant business audiences, customers or professional networks: health and safety professionals, training providers, accountants, bookkeepers, business consultants, construction and trade content creators, property professionals, industry websites, business communities and other relevant organisations. Applications are assessed individually and subject to approval.
Do I need a website or large social media following?
No. You don't need a large website or thousands of followers. The relevance and quality of your audience or professional network can matter more than its size. An accountant with SME clients, a trainer working with contractors, or a creator with a smaller but highly engaged trade audience could all be suitable Partners.
Can I refer businesses from different industries?
Yes. Complys supports businesses across multiple industries, so depending on product availability, Partners may introduce businesses from construction and trades, health and safety, property and lettings, care and healthcare, facilities and other supported sectors. Partners with varied audiences aren't restricted to one profession.
What happens if a referred customer cancels?
Commission is based on qualifying subscription payments actually received by Complys. If a referred customer cancels and stops making eligible payments, you no longer receive recurring commission from that subscription. Commission already earned remains subject to the Partner Programme terms, including rules on refunds, reversals and chargebacks.
Can I refer an existing Complys customer?
Existing Complys customers are not normally treated as new affiliate referrals. The programme is primarily intended to reward Partners for introducing new customers. Any exceptions or special arrangements are governed by the current Complys Partner Programme terms.
Are refunds, VAT and chargebacks included in commission?
No. Commission is calculated on eligible subscription revenue in accordance with the Partner Programme terms. VAT, refunds, chargebacks, reversed payments and other excluded amounts do not generate commission, so commission is based on qualifying revenue actually received and retained by Complys.
Can I refer my own business?
The programme rewards genuine referrals of new businesses. Self-referrals, artificial referrals, duplicate accounts or accounts created primarily to obtain commission are not normally eligible. See the current Complys Partner Programme terms for the full eligibility and referral rules.
